Professional Membership and Ethical Code of Practice
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the biggest UK professional organisation of counsellors and psychotherapists.I work under the BACP code of practice, and have been a member since 2004. Find more details on the BACP website.
My Experience
I have worked with clients from all walks of life with many and various problems: from disturbing levels of anxiety, loss of loved ones, alcohol and drug related problems, and eating disorders, to depression, stress, difficulty relating to others, and coping with past trauma and violence, both physical and mental. I take great care to distinguish between symptoms and their underlying causes, and really try to 'get to the bottom' of every issue. I believe that psychological issues are similar to physical wounds; if you don't treat them properly, they can fester and create bigger problems later.
